Moving to accelerate growth in its retail sales channels, Core Brands today announced the appointment of retail veteran Chris Ochs to the position of Director of Sales, Retail. The announcement was made by Core Brands Vice President of Sales Jeff Costello.
“Chris is a strategically focused retail sales professional who has the demonstrated skills, experience and commitment required to strengthen our current relationships with our key retail partners, while identifying and developing new retail opportunities for our brands,” Costello said today. ”In addition, Chris will assume responsibility for working with and managing all of our retail sales rep groups.”
Ochs is no stranger to Core Brands; for the last year he has worked closely with the company’s sales and management teams as a retail strategy consultant. Prior to this, he worked for Best Buy/Magnolia for eight years, where he was deeply involved with developing strategies and merchandising programs for the retail chain’s home automation and connected digital solutions product categories. “This experience will help us to develop and implement very effective multi-brand retail programs for our iconic audio, power and control brands,” Costello emphasized today.
Indeed, Chris Ochs brings a great deal of experience to his new position at Core Brands, including more than 11 years as a Fortune 50 corporate strategist and new business/product developer as well as more than seven years years of multi-channel sales leadership, planning, execution, and marketing for a variety of consumer electronics, digital entertainment, home automation, alternative energy, and physical/digital products and related services.
“I am excited to join the Core Brands team and look forward to leading the refocused effort in the retail channel,” said Ochs. “We have great brands and great products that can create real opportunities for our retail partners.”
