Capping a year of record breaking growth in its Pro Audio business, KMC Pro Audio (www.kmcmusic.com) today announced the expansion of its Galaxy Audio (www.galaxyaudio.com) product offering, which now includes the company’s full line of amps, digital signal processing, speakers, media players, microphones, mixers, monitors, ear buds, portable PA, wireless microphones and monitors, and audio solutions.
“A relationship that began with the distribution of two SKUs has now expanded to include the entire line of high performance Galaxy Audio products and solutions,” KMC Pro Audio Vice President of Merchandising Roger Hart said today. “Our 6,500 dealers now know that we can serve as their one-stop source for every SKU in the Galaxy Audio product portfolio. Galaxy Audio began in 1977 as Superior Sound, operated by Brock Jabara and his partner, Jim Pearce. They both had eight years of concert sound experience, and their rental products flanked the stages of concert halls and arenas all over the country, providing sound for Aretha Franklin, The Bee Gees, Janis Joplin, James Brown and countless others.
The two entrepreneurs then developed the Hot Spot Personal Monitor, which became an immediate hit among musicians everywhere. It was obvious that with some refinement, the new products could fill a long-standing void in the marketplace. Superior Sound began to metamorphose from a speaker rental company to speaker manufacturing company, culminating in the launch of Galaxy Audio.
