NanoLumens and the Miami HEAT to Team Up at InfoComm 2017 for Presentation on “Fan Engagement in the Digital Age”

The subject of fan engagement in the digital age will take centerstage at InfoComm 2017 when NanoLumens® and the NBA’s Miami HEAT team up to make a major presentation on June 16, 2017 at Center Stage, located at booth 3461, in the Orlando Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.  The presentation will be made by Miami HEAT Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer John Vidalin and NanoLumens CEO Rick Cope.

“While tailgating at a basketball game was previously unheard of, in-town teams like the Miami HEAT are making it a regular part of the pre-game warm-up with new digitally interactive experiences that bring fans back to the stadium,” Cope said today. “InfoComm attendees interested in learning what fan engagement looks like in today’s digital age should make sure to attend this deep dive into a very exciting and compelling trend that is adding a new dimension to the fan experience, one that is getting fans off their couches and coming back out to the arena to watch the game live.”

According to Cope, the Miami HEAT have broken the mold in getting fans to show up early and stay late with their new XFINITY East Plaza, which features NanoLumens Nixel Series™ outdoor LED displays. “The team has amassed a great deal of insight into what works and what doesn’t work, which will be very interesting for InfoComm show attendees. We’re proud to be a partner of the HEAT, and we’re excited to share the stage with them at this very important presentation,” Cope said.

This in-depth discussion will candidly share the challenges and successes of the new digital engagement, and provide attendees with new insights and next steps for their upcoming projects. It will specifically explore AmericanAirlines Arena’s new high-tech outdoor entertaining space, the XFINITY East Plaza, and how the HEAT have utilized it to engage fans in new and unique ways.

At the opening of the XFINITY East Plaza, the Miami HEAT launched a revolution in fan engagement. The new space is built for the best that Miami has to offer, utilizing the sun, heat and views of Biscayne Bay while implementing the top technologies, from NRG Solar Panels to fine pitch outdoor LED from NanoLumens, all in an effort to extend the concourse and create a “white hot” iconic experience. The new plaza turned a once under-utilized outdoor area into a revenue-generating epicenter of entertainment for the HEAT Group, and created an oasis for ticketed guests to enjoy the South Florida weather, while not missing a minute of the action.
